Manny being Manny, Win7 Wifi

For those have who have a read a few of my posts, you'll know this blog is going to be at times random. It has been hectic lately and my posts have been sparatic at best. I recently closed on my condo and have been in the process of moving and making all the proper arrangements. Today was the first Sunday in a few weeks where I was able to sleep in, eat breakfeast and enjoy my morning watching SportsCenter and catching up on the news. Which brings me to my first topic of disucssion. Manny Ramirez.

Fresh off a 50 game suspension, Manny made his return Saturday to the Dodgers lineup. Ironiclly, it was the anniversery of Lou Gehrig's farewell to baseball. There was a OTL special on ESPN about the performance enhancing drug related suspension and it got me thinking. As a diehard Boston fan, and a huge fan of Manny - I have to say this is the first time I really feel like a player is going to come off suspension and still be able to live up to the fact that he messed up, and perform as expected. Something about Manny tells me that he really isn't going to let the media bother him, and it's probably just because he simply does not care. It's an interesting model which usually puts him in the spotlight as a bad teammate or a selfish player. He may just have what it takes to bounce back from the criticism, and show the world that the PED's we've come to hear so much about, really are more about rehibilitation than they are enhancement. I may be biased, but I would love more than anyone to see Manny bounce back and show the world that he is more than a doper. Only time will tell. If your not familiar with the whole Manny Saga, catch up here via Google News.

Onto another topic, much different than above - Windows 7 Wireless. As my ongoing attempt to voice my opinion on the much anticipated OS, I have been putting out my 2 cents on the day to day operations of Win7. This morning I finnaly had time to setup the wireless adapter on my desktop Win7 machine, and have to say that I love the wireless network selection setup. The whole process has been compacted to a window expandable from the task tray. It made connecting and searching for local networks an easy process able to complete in a few clicks. It's sad as connecting the network on my Vista laptop was as usual flakey and over thought. The technology was solid, but the GUI was not up to par IMO. It's very refereshing to see the changes in Win7, as training end users on how to use it in Vista would have been a nightmare. I am thankful every day that we did not make the push out to client machines at work for Vista.
